EMILIANO GODOY (Mexico, 1974)

With experience in furniture, products, architecture, urban furnishings, art and exhibits design; Emiliano Godoy works primarily in projects about applied sustainability. He has worked for companies such as Saint Gobain, EHV Weidmann, Pepsico, Holland Chemical International (HCI), Pipeline Integrity International (PII), Pipetronix, Frito Lay/Sabritas, and the Museo de la Ciudad de México.

Industrial designer from Pratt Institute's graduate program (New York , 2004), he also holds a BA degree in industrial design from Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico City, 1997). He has received several awards and scholarships, such as a Fulbright scholarship for graduate studies (New York-Mexico City, 2002), a Bronze Leaf at the International Furniture Design Award (Asahikawa, Japan, 2005), a Conduit Award (New York, 2005) and an honorable mention at Mexico's First Design Biennial (Mexico City, 2001), as well as many academic achievement awards. His work has been featured at many fairs and shows such as the ICFF (New York, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006), International Furniture Design Award (Asahikawa, 2005), Ambiente (Frankfurt, 2003), hOLAnDA '03 and '05 (Amsterdam, 2003 and 2005), Galeria de Arte Mexicano (Mexico City, 2005) and Galería OMR (Mexico City, 2003).

Godoy teaches sustainable design at UNAM's Center for Industrial Design Research and at ITESM (Instituto Teconológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey), both undegraduate industrial design programs in Mexico City. His work has appeared in international design publications such as ID Magazine, Dwell, Wallpaper, Arquine, Elle and Designer Magazine, and in books such as Diseño: México (RM ediciones, 2005), Young Designers Americas (Daab, 2006) and Experimental Eco Design (Rotovision, 2005).

He also co-created matatena.com, a contemporary art website and was part of the development team of Puerto 82, a design research center active from 1997 until 2000.
