SANGRE
Illuminated table

Sangre is an illuminated table made for the Lacoste 12.12 project in Mexico City. 40 artists, designers and celebrities were invited to produce pieces to be auctioned at a fund raising event organized by Lacoste.

The glass is red. The shape of the table is a bit too simple. It looks like a utilitarian solution, someone trying to enclose something with the least amount of materials and labour. When the lights turn on, a texture appears on the glass surface. Is it the blood of a dead crocodile, escaping from its wooden coffin?

Year: 2006
Material: Ash plywood, glass, electrical components
Size: 60 x 120 x 25 cm
