DIRIGIBLE
Dirigible is a suspended sleeping room to be placed in residual urban spaces, those with no one to fully claim their ownership or stewardship and with boundaries defined precisely by their porous condition. Thus, the dweller inhabits but does not own what’s left between governmental infrastructure, public space, private buildings and transit spaces.
This piece was commissioned for the exhibition Moradias Transitorias, curated by Nicola Goreti and shown at the Museo Nacional in Brasilia in 2007. The exhibition included pieces by Domènec, a77, Jum Nakao, Mana Bernardes, and Lucy and Jorge Orta, among others.
